Introduction to Farcaster

Farcaster is a sufficiently decentralized social network built on Ethereum.

It is a public social network similar to X and Reddit. Users can create profiles, post "casts" and follow others. They own their accounts and relationships with other users and are free to move between different apps.

Miniapps

Farcaster Miniapps are lightweight onchain apps that live inside the Farcaster social network.

They let users interact directly with smart contracts — swapping tokens, joining pools, minting NFTs, or doing quests — all without leaving their feed.

Think of them as "social dapps": tiny, composable apps that combine posts, wallets, and onchain actions in one place.
